Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies to sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000 from April 2026, over £30,000 from April 2027, and over £20,000 from April 2028. Qualifying income is your gross self-employment and property income combined, before expenses. Where you keep your own books, we review them each quarter before filing, so that the figures we submit are ones we've checked. If you're not sure whether MTD applies to you yet, we'll check together at your consultation.
